League of Legends Patch 10.10 Review
Riot Games have released the 10.10 patch for League of Legends, featuring a bunch of nerfs and buffs alongside other in-game changes.
Here’s a comprehensive look at the changes the game has undergone following the new update;
Annie – Before the patch, Annie’s E, Molten Shield, reduced damage on enemy attacks by 10/13/16/19/22%. Those figures have now been bumped up to 13/17/21/25/29 thus making her E pretty OP.
Irelia – Irelia the blade dancer is one of the most popular champions on the roster. She’s set to become more popular now that her E’s base damage has been increased from 70/110/150/100/230% to 80/125/170/215/260.
Nidalee – The damage ratio of Nidalee’s Q, Javelin Toss, has been bumped up to 0.5 ability power (1.5 ability power maximum), making her more effective in the late game.
Sivir – Sirvir’s mana restore ability when using her E, Spell Shield, has been increased from 80/95/110/125/140 to 110/120/130/140/150.
Soraka – The base damage of Soraka’s Q, Starcall, has been increased from 75/110/145/180/215 to 85/120/155/190/225 while the health cost reduction on her W, Astral Infusion, has gone up from 60/70/80/90/100% to 80/85/90/95/100% allowing her to scale quite nicely in a matchup.
Twisted Fate – Twisted fate’s AD and armor have both been boosted to 52 and 21, with a view to making him more effective in the early game. His R, Destiny, now costs less mana to execute (100 as opposed to 150 before the patch).
Udyr – Udyr has enjoyed one of the nicest overall buffs on the new patch. His movement speed has one up from 345 to 350 while his health has gone from 593.32 to 594.
Diana – You will have to use Diana more cautiously in the rift from now on after riot games opted to nerf her on the latest patch. Her base health has been reduced from 594 to 570 making her less durable. Diana’s AD was also affected by patch 10.10, but not by much, as it has gone down from 57.04 to 57.
Katarina – The damage ratio of Katarina’s passive, Voracity, has been reduced from 0.55/0.70/0.85/1 ability power to 0.55/0.66/0.77/0.88 ability power making her less effective than she was in the late game.
Kayn – Following the new patch, Kayne will now heal at a frequency of 30-40% of damage instead of the previous tallies of 34.5-43%.
Kled – The cooldown on Kled’s Q, Beartrap on a rope, has been increased to 11/10/9/8/7 seconds, a nerf that could potentially make Kled’s early game weaker.
Miss Fortune – Miss Fortune’s maximum bonus movement speed with her W, Strut, has been reduced from 60/70/80/90/100 to 50/60/70/80/90.
Maokai – Maokai’s base mana has been reduced from 377.28 to 375. The mana cost of his Q, Bramble Smash, has also gone up from 50 to 60 mana.
Taric – Taric’s health growth has dropped from 90-85. His W’s bonus armor ratio has also been decreased from 10/12.5/15/17.5/20% to 10/11/12/13/14% making him less effective during the late game.
The Return of URF
The fabled Ultra Rapid Fire mode has made its return to League of Legends following the 10.10 patch. The mode essentially grants all players 80% cooldown restriction, allowing for a more free-flowing battle experience on summoners rift.
It’s a much-needed mode that will give players a chance to have fun whilst they sharpen their skills in battle.
With a ton of nerfs and buffs in this patch, Riot games appear to be working tirelessly to make the game more balanced across all skill levels. The next patch will almost certainly feature another set of nerfs and buffs – stay tuned for that!
League of Legends 10.5 Patch Review
League of Legends is by far the biggest MOBA game on the planet. It paved the way for a ton of other MOBA games to come into existence, serving as somewhat of a point of reference in terms of the sort of gameplay mechanics, Esport scene and whatnot, a game in the Multiplayer Online Battle Arena genre should boast of.
Since its initial release in 2009, Riot Games have relied on regular patches to remove any gameplay bugs, keep the game’s content fresh enough to retain its player base and bring in some new active users.
Just last week, the 10.5 patch was released, making some changes to the effectiveness of certain champions on the game – amongst other things, here’s a comprehensive review of the new patch;
Following the new patch, a number of champions have experienced an increase in their effectiveness, here’s a look at them;
- Alistar – Increase in base health from 575 to 600. A somewhat marginal increase, but a decent one nonetheless. Also, Alistar now has the ability to gain new stacks once triumph stacks are consumed.
- Graves – Increase in base magic resist from 30 to 32. Reduced the cost of Graves’ Q to 60 mana while also reducing its cooldown time.
- Kai’Sa – Decrease in Kai’Sa’s Q AP ratio and an increase in her W base damage granting her +0.7 ability power and +1.3 total attack damage.
- Kayn – Increase in passive orb gain – unlike before Kayn’s passive orb gain increases every second after 5 minutes and flattens out after 13 minutes.
- Lissandra – Increase in Q AP ratio from 0.7 ability power to 0.8 ability power.
- Neeko – Increase in attack speed growth from 3% to 3.5%. Increase in E AP ratio from 0.4 to 0.6 ability power. Increase in R Shield from +0.5 ability power to +0.75 ability power.
- Sivir – Increase in Q damage. Sivir’s minimum movement is also now scalable.
- Sona – Increase in base attack damage from 45 to 49. Also an increase in AD growth from 2 to 3. Sona’s E movement speed has also been increased to 20% and is now static.
A bunch of champions was nerfed on the 10.5 patch. Here’s a look at them;
- Amumu – Amumu’s R cooldown has now been increased early, reducing his effectiveness compared to the previous patch.
- Bard – Reduction to passive chime damage from 15 to 12, making him less suitable to high-level play compared to the 10.4 patch.
- Blitzcrank – A small, barely noticeable reduction to his base armor from 40 to 37.
- Ornn – Ornn experienced a decrease in his passive empowered damage while also receiving an increase to his weapon auto-upgrade level from 12 to 13.
- Rammus – Decreased base attack speed ratio from 0.656 to 0.625.
- Sett – Decrease to Sett’s base armor (37 to 33), health regen (8 to 7) and health regen growth (0.75 to 0.5).
Eternals are now available following the 10.5 patch. You can get starter series Eternals with Blue Essence, while Series 1 Eternals are only available for RP in-game.
Here’s a look at the major bug fixes for the 10.5 patch;
Back on the 10.4 patch, the game had a glitch where hovering over the Drake Ocean’s Soul would cause the game to hitch for a quick second – sometimes more. This has now been fixed on the new patch allowing for a smooth gaming experience for the LOL player base.
Grayed Out Summoner Names
The new patch has fixed an issue where players’ summoner names get grayed out if they’re still in the lobby when entering the end of the game screen.
Death’s Dance’s Fatality
Death’s dance’s last tick of stored damage now completely clears out the target champion’s HP.
Following the new patch, Champions that have lethal tempo equipped will now gain bonus AS after engaging enemy champions regardless of whether the enemy champion is shielded or not.
