That being said, there are certain things you can do to improve your chances of getting more WL wins, and some of those things don’t even revolve around gameplay.
We recently spoke to pro FIFA player Boras Legend about how more players can improve their WL results, and he gave us five non-gameplay related tips for getting more wins in the Weekend League.
Here’s a comprehensive look at those tips.
Get Some Downtime
Far too many FIFA players play the weekend league for hours on end without taking any real breaks in between.
As humans, there’s a limit to how much time we can spend focusing on something before we start getting sloppy.
When you get past that limit in FIFA, your play stops being refined and you start making silly mistakes, such as executing the wrong skill move or misplacing your passes – and as you should know, little mistakes like that can cost you a win.
That’s why it’s important to take breaks after every one or two hours of playing the Weekend League. These breaks will help you maintain your focus, allowing you to, in turn, maintain high-performance levels.
Manage Your Emotions
FIFA is one of the most frustrating competitive games on the planet, but if you let the frustration affect you, you’ll struggle to maintain a consistent Weekend League run.
FIFA is best played when you’re in a calm emotional state. If you play the game while you’re annoyed or angry, your emotions will probably cloud your mind, and prevent you from playing at your peak.
On that note, you need to manage your emotions while playing the Weekend League.
Space Out Your Games
The Weekend League starts on Friday and ends on Sunday, that means you have three full days to play 30 games of FIFA.
However, a lot of FIFA players tend to play a bulk of their games in one day – sometimes even in one sitting – this is bad because, if you play for an extended period of time, your in-game creativity is likely to dwindle, causing you to use the same exact gameplay patterns every game, which obviously, stops you from playing to the best of your abilities.
In order to keep your brain sharp and creative, you need to space out your Weekend League games across different days.
A good set-up would be playing 10 games on Friday, 10 games on Saturday and 10 games on Sunday.
Although if you’re not able to play on Fridays due to work or school commitments, you could set up a different gameplay schedule for yourself.
Believe In Yourself
Self belief is a key aspect of FIFA that most people rarely talk about. You need to be confident in your own abilities as a FIFA player, instead of getting worried when you come up against a player with a better team than yours.
If you believe you can beat anybody, you’ll have more success in the Weekend League against tough opponents.
Practice In Division Rivals
A lot of players like to build new teams on Thursdays after receiving their rewards – if you’re one of them, you’d benefit a lot from jumping into Division Rivals to practice with your new team before the start of the Weekend League.
Doing so allows you to get a good grasp of your new team, giving you a better chance of performing like a GOAT in the Weekend League.
