Lesson description

I’d always look for a top tier match preferably from an offline event where there’s the most preparation. All demos are available at www.HLTV.org under the “Matches” tab. Positions, rotations, utility usage, strategies, setups, and powerplay are all things that you’ll want to pay attention to when looking through a demo. To clarify further, positioning and rotations are about how the teams are positioning themselves in certain situations or rotating around the map. Rotations are usually based on what the enemy team is doing, and how their teammates are moving. Utility usage is about how they utilize their grenades, both offensively and defensively. Pay attention to every grenade as every single one has a purpose and is rarely throw without thought. This is especially relevant for early round utility, and the demos are an ideal guideline for how to shut down certain spots. Watching professional teams play is the perfect way to find inspiration for strategies and setups as the players are usually the pioneers within the scene. Remember to be critical of some of the things that they’re doing though as it’s a direct counter based on analyzing their opponent’s demo.
