Lesson description

Enabling developer console is the first step as you’ll want to use the console to write commands into your config. Configuring your video settings in-game is very simple. The most widely used resolution is 1280×960 whether it’s black bars or stretched is down to personal preference. You’ll want to have each setting on low, to obtain the highest FPS. Autoexec is the config that ensures you load the correct rates and settings every time. Setting up an autoexec is very simple; create a new config file and type in the desired commands such as cl_cmdrate, cl_updaterate, and fps_max. Launch options are changed on the “Games” tab on Steam by right-clicking Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, selecting ”Properties” then ”Set Launch options” and writing in the desired commands. The most popular command is -novid, which disables the cinematic intro when opening CSGO. You’ll also want to run +exec autoexec.cfg to make sure it loads every time you launch the game.
